How it works

Three steps, every single morning.

1 We read everything, every day
Every council planning portal, An Bord Pleanála, building-control commencement notices and the public tenders platforms - all 31 local authorities, checked daily. Nothing filed in Ireland gets past the net.
2 We work out who to call
Each record is checked that it's real building work, valued against Irish build costs, placed on the map, and matched to the architect, engineer or planning consultant who filed it - with their business phone or email wherever one is published.
3 You get a short morning email
The best few jobs for your counties and your trade, each with a reason to act and the person to contact. Plus an alert the moment one of your jobs moves - a permission granted, or work about to start.

Built for trades that need the next job

Groundworks · Concrete · Blockwork · Steelwork · Carpentry · Roofing · Windows & Doors · Plumbing · Electrical · Plastering · Painting · Landscaping

Choose your counties and trade when you sign up - your morning call list is built around them.

Why builders and contractors use it

Hear about jobs first

Applications reach you within days of being filed - weeks before signs go up or word gets around.

A person to call, not just an address

The architect, engineer or planning consultant who filed the job, with a direct phone or email on most leads.

Only your patch, only your trade

Pick your counties and trade once. Every alert is filtered to jobs that could actually be yours - nothing from the far side of the country.

Know when work is starting

Commencement notices carry the exact date a site breaks ground. We tell you before it happens, while there's still time to make the call.

MORE ABOUT THE DATA
Where it all comes from
Every planning application in the country, An Bord Pleanála appeals, building-control commencement notices, public tenders and the companies register. Three years of history on file, so we know a job's whole story.
What happens to each record
Each one is checked that it's real building work, valued against Irish build costs, placed on the map, and matched to the professional who filed it.
What actually reaches you
The results, filtered to your counties and your trade: new jobs while they're fresh, sites about to break ground, and permissions granted months ago that never started.

Why I built FirstOnSite

My dad ran a roofing business for years. Finding the next job meant relying on contacts, word of mouth and knowing where to look.

A lot of the information was already public - it was just scattered across a load of different sources, and hard to put together into something that made sense.

So I built FirstOnSite to do that work every day - find the projects worth knowing about, work out who to contact, and put it into a straightforward morning call list.

The founder

Fair questions

The three everyone asks. The rest get their own page.

Where does the information come from?

Public Irish records: council planning portals, the national database, commencement notices and public tenders. We find it faster and make it readable.

Do I actually get a phone number?

On most jobs, yes. It's the architect or agent named on the application. When there isn't one, we say so straight and link you to the council file.

What does it cost?

Free to start, no card. Then €29 a month - the founding-member rate, locked in for as long as you stay subscribed. Future members will pay the standard rate. Cancel whenever, and your alerts run to the end of what you've paid for.

All the questions, answered →

Know what's worth calling about tomorrow morning

Set up your morning call list - about 30 seconds. Change any of it later from a link in every email.

Just a town, enough to show how far away each job is. Never your exact address.

Every county is covered. Tap a county, a whole province, or leave the lot blank for all of Ireland.

We tailor each alert to what matters for your trade.
